Our History

First Baptist Church was started over 40 years ago as a Southern Baptist mission to the new community known as Peachtree City. PTC has grown and First Baptist has grown with it. However, we have not lost our commitment to the foundation of God’s word (The Bible) and our calling to help people have a genuine faith relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ.

This community of believers is ethnically and generationally diverse and we strive to effectively engage our entire community. We are committed to making, maturing, and mobilizing disciples, (believers who follow Jesus Christ), who can then invest in the lives of others. And we are called to make an impact on the world…beginning right here in PTC, but reaching to the ends of the planet. We welcome those seeking to find meaning in life, as well as those striving to find fulfillment through following Christ with passion and purpose.

What time are Sunday worship services and what are they like?

We  have 2 service times;
9:30 a.m | and 11:00 a.m.

All services are in the sanctuary at the main campus.

Each service is the same with a blend of modern worship music and consistent biblical teaching that engages people of all ages in a way that helps them to find and passionately follow Christ…and to make an eternal difference in the world while on their faith journey.

  • Pre-school and Children’s ministries meet during the  9:30 a.m and 11:00 a.m. services.
  • Adult Life Groups meet during the  9:30 a.m and 11:00 a.m. services.
  • Student life groups meet at The Bridge at 9:30 a.m.  Age-graded Student Life Groups will meet on Sunday nights at 6:00 p.m at The Bridge.

What should I wear?

The environment we strive for at First Baptist is one that fosters relationship and not religion. The congregation is rather diverse, so you will find people dressed both casually and more formally. So come in your suit or your jeans. You will most likely find someone dressed like you.

Where should I park?

When you turn onto Willowbend Road, you enter a traffic pattern that could take you to multiple parking lots. On the south side of the building, you will find ‘GUEST PARKING’ which is right in front of the main entrance. There is also parking up front near the building for handicapped individuals and for senior adults.

For those with small children, if you turn onto HIP POCKET road, in between First Baptist and First Presbyterian, you will find parking spots near the preschool entrance. This can make transitions more convenient. We do have a golf cart ministry that can help those who need a lift in good and bad weather.
