A Thanksgiving Prayer
Oh God, during this time of Thanksgiving, we are grateful that you know our every need and hear our every prayer. As we take the time this week to reflect in a spirit of Thanksgiving, may you open our eyes and remind our hearts of all of the ways you have been at work in us, through us and around us this year.
In our moments of hardship and despair, help us to not lose heart, remembering that “For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)
In our moments of joy and happiness, remind us to give you all the credit as “All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.” (2 Corinthians 4:15)
And at all times, help us to remember to “ fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18)
God, we are thankful for the people who you have given us in our lives, the provisions you bless us with each day, and your presence that never leaves us.
May we continue to learn how to walk with you each day with hearts that are filled with Joy and Thanksgiving.
